If you are booting USB Loader GX from a channel - try turning on your Wii first with the HDD turned off or unplugged, when you press "A" and the menu shows, plug in your HDD and wait for the HDD to boot (light turns on if there is one) then select your USB Loader channel. HDD should be recognized.
If you are booting USB Loader GX from homebrew channel - with your HDD unplugged, start your Wii, start homebrew channel, before selecting USB Loader GX from HBC, plug in you HDD and wait for it to boot (light turns on if there is one), then select USB Loader GX, HDD should be recognized.
If this process doesn't work then your HDD probably is not compatible, if you set it up correctly.
The thing is, USB Loader GX is not 100% compatible with my seagate, if I use this process then my HDD is recognized by USB Loader GX. I used to do this with all USB Loaders until cIOS38 rev14 was released. Now all USB Loaders (except USB Loader GX) recognize my HDD without using this process.
Configurable USB Loader - works
WiiFlow - works
CoverFloader - works
uLoader - works
USB Loader GX - does not work
