USB Loader GX not recognising USB drives

Hi all,

I have a 3.2E wii with yaosm installed.

recently installed mplayer ce and forwarder (and the usb2.0 cios), all working ok.

wanted to get usb loader gx up and running, dont have a usb hard drive at the moment but plan on getting one soon.
i have a Kingsotn datatraveller 2gb, and a PNY micro attache 4gb (pen drives) hoping one of these would allow me to get the loader up and running in principal.
i have formatted the drives using WBFS on the pc - all seemed ok.

when running the loader (tried a couple of revisions but currently r792 from [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]) through hbc or the forwarder channel i get the same problem...
i get the loading screen, then the message at the bottom 'waiting for slow usb device' then it counts down before resetting to wii menu.
on one of the revisions i tried (think it was an older one), i got a screen saying something like no usb device, then the option to select ios249 or 222 or something, still no joy.
i was under the impression that it should at least recognise the drive even if there is nothing on it

couple of other things to note:
the kingson drive is recognised by mplayer, the pny is not
wad manger couldnt use ios249 to install the forwarder wad, tried 36 and that worked.

hoping somebody would be able to tell me where i'm going wrong...

bear in mind i'm pretty new to all this!

edit: do i need to do this [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] or this [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] or neither lol

It`s not a fault with usbloader, unfortunately not all usb pen drives are compatable. I use a 2.5" wd passport drive, works a treat.

A couple of things to try.
You need to be on cIOS38rev14
Try the other USB slot
When you formatted the drive it needs to be primary and active.

...tried to install cIOS38rev14, installer runs, but when it gets to "installing custom ios please wait"
under it says "install error (ret = -1035)"

which ios should i select, tried 249 and 36

so now ive tried this:[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
as suggested in the error message listing post, and got more problems!

did you try the wad installation, or the network.

- Copy "IOS38-64-v3610.wad" file to the root of a SD card.
- Insert the SD card on your Wii.
- Run the installer and select "WAD Installation".
