Can't loader HDD sometimes

So I my wii softmodded 4.2U, everything works fine, but there is one problem, my USB loader doesn't load all the time, everytime i unplug my USB and plug it back in, it will be hard to get the wii to detect the USB, i have to turn off and turn on my wii at least 5 times to get my usb loading, my HDD is WD My Passport Essential 320GB, i heard that people said it was good, does anyone also have this HDD have this same problem?

ok, so i found out it is not my wii's problem, i think is my HDD, does anyone with WD My Passport Essential 320GB also feel that the plug on the HDD is too loose? is that to all of the WD My Passport Essential 320GB? or is it only mine?

It shouldn't be real loose. It does have its own power right? Not drawing power from the Wii, I have another HD I was using but It did not have its own power source and would do the same thing your describing.

I have a wd my book 500gb that does the same thing, i think it might be a cable as if you put it in a specific place it works!

although saying that if i turn off my hdd, boot my wii open usb loader wait for it to start counting down plug the drive in and turn it on 9 times oput of 10 it works

might be worth a try?
