I feel your pain MrLeche. Though hopefully this thread may help you.
Help with SSBB - Page 3
Been here at Wiihacks since 3.2 days. And mine's stable at 4.1U having a korean hardware. Since I do have the same problem at SSBB, and I load backups and have hdd at the same time, I'm back here. Now when I played SSBB via Dual Layer Blue dyed dvd, The cutscenes are laggy. I've read somewhere that when your Wii is softmodded is read speed is at 3x max, as oppose to hardmod which makes it 6x. I wanted it to be smooth otherwise I would've just played the ripped SSBB showing Mario and Kirby 'til hell on earth. So I tried to run it via HDD which gives me light green error screen after one game. Leading me to this thread. So here's the thing:
In case I won't install the Hermes 222/223 and buy SSBB and RB2, will those work for me?
I know I came this far but somehow I wanted to unify my Wii gaming experience that I only load game from just one loader whichever will be the best. (I got neogamma r7 on a channel and an old Waninkoko's usb loader 1.5 for game dumping and I've got CIOScorp to load backups right in the first channel) and I DON'T want to instruct every friend, relative, my wife, and to whoever wants to play, every detail. That when you want to play this game, load it from hdd, use neogamma r7 press 1 save settings your set! uh, no.
hello everyone, i have somewhat the same problem too. i get the error message aswell but when i did the whole softmod tutorial for a 4.2 i did remember doing the hermes222 thing. but this is the only game that is giving me a problem after the 1st round on the story space thing. and i do go to settings and put the game to run on 222 aswell. what can be the problem?? i ripped this game of an original disc and running it on usbloadergx. any help would be awesome!!!
If you had cIOS38 rev14 installed when you ripped SSBB, that could be a problem, since cIOS38 rev14 doesn't support dual layer discs, but I don't think this has been confirmed for ripping the ISO from retail disc. There are two options you can use to rip the disc again to see if this fixes your problem.
1. install cIOS38 rev13, rip the retail SSBB to your HDD, and then reinstall cIOS38 rev14.
2. leave the cIOS38 rev14 installed, Set the USB Loader GX to use IOS222, then rip the SSBB from a retail disc. I don't use USB Loader GX, but there is an option to set the loader to use IOS222, and another option for the game to boot with IOS222, if you set the loader to use IOS222 then all games discs will rip with IOS222 and also play with that IOS222 by default.
so is ios222 the best to use for ripping all games or just that one?? so i should delete it and just re-rip it again??
Edit: when i set the usbloaderGX to 222. next time i start it up, its back to its default ios. is there no way to save it??

It may be in a configuration file somewhere. Have a look through the files on your SD and see if something springs to mind.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
Guys, I have spent almost 2 days reading and trying to get Super Smash Bros Brawl and I can not get it to work pass the first fight. I have used the 4.2 soft modded guide from this forum and I have also installed Hermes cIOS v4. I have used Neogamma with IOS 222/223 and different combinations along with Uloader, WiiFlow, USB Loader GX and still does not work for me.
The game launches perfectly fine, but after battling Kirby, the game goes to a black screen and nothing happens. I do not get any messages. Just a black screen.
Here is a little background information. I have the game ripped from a US version original disc. It is not a copy. It is an original. I ripped via Wiiflow. All my other games work fine including the new Super Mario Bros. This is the only game that has given me a headache. Any help will be appreciated.
i'm having the same problem. everything else seems to work fine but right after the fight with kirby in the subspace emissary mode, i get this message:
i also don't have a sd card reader at the moment so currently any fixes i implement have to be done to the ssbb iso before i put it on my external hdd via wbfs manager. do i have a hope of resolving this w/o a sd card reader?

Not really a fix BUT:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Cheats, Codes, and Secrets for Wii - GameFAQs
if the only thing not working for us is subspace emissary, the only feature i see that we can't access is boss battle mode. it seems that everything else is fair game including the most important parts: characters and levels.
sure we might miss out on some trophies and background music but honestly, since the wii has no networked equivalent of psn's trophies or live's achievments, i couldn't care less about that stuff on the wii.
i'd still rather have subspace emissary than not have it but from what i can tell, we are not missing out on all that much if we can't get it via haxorz.
