I used USB Loader GX before but I switched to Configurable USB loader because I wanted to be able to play GH5 on my hdd. Never had any problems with cfg whatsoever, very easy to use as well.
I originally used coverfloader which was good, tried usbloader gx and found it was unstable and didn't work well, so i moved onto uloader and have never looked back, even though it is a basic loader its very powerfull in what it can do with different ios's etc
but as they say different horses for different courses, each to their own...

I just want to confirm that all USB HD loaders require you to insert your game disc into the Wii to copy the game to the HD, and none are able to use a different method to getting the game on the HD, is that all correct?

no u can load the ios from the pc with WBFS manager

I use USB Loader GX, I love the GUI, It's easy to use (even my mom play with it lol), great making back up and like messie said I love uploading my isos with WBFS I tried using NeoGamma but it was not as good as GX, I haven't been able to play RB from my HDD with any of them though.
