When i'm in GX, settings are:Autoboot=file, return=autoboot.

There are two buttons right under, the homebrow launcher and the WII menu button, by both you can go to HBC, the first is an GX HBC.

When you push on the home button by the first, I choose WII menu, it autoboots and goes back to GX, by the second you can choose to go to system menu, it also autoboots to GX

I have the same question as the above posts from sattertje.

I have set up the wii to boot directly into USB Loader GX and return to USB Loader GX once a game is quit as described in this thread. All is working great...but...my question is...

Is it possible to access the Wii system menu (ie to change/Mii characters) without having to turn off the console and booting back into Priiloader to select the system menu?

Everything I have tried takes be back to USB Loader GX. I have the settings in Priiloader to the recommended settings of autoboot=file, return to=autoboot.

Does this method work for anyone else? When I do this, it takes me back to USB Loader GX. WiiJohn, can you confirm that this works?

    Thanks

The original idea of this was to stay in GX loader, there by making it safe for kids to use without the fear of them messing up your system.
Whyat you have now accomplishes that, I have changed my settings so it boots into GX, but then when I press home I can get the main menu.
That makes it flexible but not child proof.

Can you explain how to do this so I can replicate it? The current setup works great 90% of the time, but to play Wiiware and such, it is a pain to have to go up to the console and hold reset whilst turning the Wii on.

    Thanks again.

    I set autoboot = file
    return = system menu

This enables boot to GX on power on, but allows me to leave it to system menu. As I said, not child friendly but flexible.

Hi all - sorry to hijack this thread but there's a lot of talk about preloader and priiloader and was hoping for some advice - newbee here.

I've got V4.1E, preloader 0.29, HBC 1.0.6. I know I can't get preloader to go to bootmii because of the JODI / HAXX thing and I've downloaded preloader v0.3, but I'm to scared to install it. Thing is, it mentions in the readme to press + to install, (so I thought great, lets go), but then it says to hold b to use IOS249. Do I need to hold b or not. If I've already got a hacked Wii and preloader .029, can I just install the update ? The reason for wanting it installed is for brick protection (I've got a backup of my NAND). Am I right in my reason for wanting to go from 0.29 - 0.30 or can somebody shed some light for me.

I've read loads of posts on this site but seem to end up going round in circles and not getting the answer I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hi,
after reading through all the previous posts, none of them really answer my question so i hope you dont mind me asking.
i currently have gx installed as a channel(not a forwarder) and want to boot directly into gx. do i just only need the dol file on the root of my sd card for it to work, and would it not conflict with the channel that is installed, even if they are different revisions.
    regards
    mark

If you want to autoboot into GX, then yes, you need the dol in the root of the SD card. Whatever revision the Dol is, thats what it'll boot into. If you want to boot into whatever revision the channel is, youll have to obtain a dol for that revision. But no, it won't conflict. Just realize the autoboot GX will be a different revision than if you back out of GX and boot GX through the channel.
    Hope that helps

ahh right, thank you..i take it only the dol file is needed and no folder with say the full gx program on the sdcard.
