    no pattern to it really.
also had a couple of times where the wiimote wont turn on, the leds flash a few times but it wont register. this has only happened a couple of times.

in both cases an off/on is enough to sort it out.

not major problems but any ideas why it might happen?

    cheers
Rev32 of priiloader seems to work for many people including myself.
There are autoboot probs with rev 30.
There are unofficial releases of priiloader that work but have their own quirks.
rev40 and rev45 have been complied, but not released.

Until a new version is officially released its a bit messy.

Hi John, going to give it another go since I got a bit more time now after the holidays.

Can I have both USB LOADER GX and USB LOADER GX FORWARDER installed as a channel to have it boot or just the forwarder?

Also can I install them both on my USB drive, I have the USB LOADER GX installed on my drive now and the speed difference to load up is significate compared to loading off the SD.

    Thanks again.

    Only the forwarder can boot.
The channel does not need anything, but covers have to be installed on usb.
You can install the standard GX on your USB, and as a channel.
It gets a bit complicated having three but I see no problem with that.

It is possible to boot your wii directly into the USB loader GX. The only thing you need for this is a wii app called preloader.
First download the newest rev of the loader or even better, the forwarder (dol format, see downloads at the top of the readmii). Place the dol you get in the root of your SD card (no need to rename it to boot.dol).
In the preloader menu, choose install file and choose the dol to install. When its done, go to the main menu of preloader (B) and then choose 'settings'. You have to change 2 options here: Autoboot=file and Return to=preloader. Save the settings, then launch the Wii menu in the main menu. It will boot into the USB loader GX!

I realised I changed my settings, sorry for that.
    Autoboot=file
    return=autoboot

With these settings the Wii boots in GX,
When you press A in a game it goes to GX.
Also when trying to exit GX it only goes to HBC or GX.
If you want the Wii menu you have to poweroff, gointo preloader and select main menu.
Can you explain why you changed the setting from return=preloader to return= autoboot?

Can you also tell me if it is better to install and load the USB GX forwarder in priiloader or just install and load the app: USB GX loader in priiloader, if so, why?

    Thanks

These settings are a matter of preference.
At first I locked out the system menu so the Wii booted to GX and stayed there. This was a little awkward when I wanted to goto the menu, I had to power off and go to preloader.

You can have any .dol file as the install file. it just boots to it.
I use the forwarder as when I'm not locked into GX I can then run it from the main menu.

    Thansk so far,
But now I'm a little confused.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, when the settings are:Autoboot=file, return=autoboot. You can only to the Wiimenu through restart, push reset, into priiloader, choose system menu.

When the settings are Autoboot=file return=preloader, you go to the priiloader when you choose to go to the WIImenu in a game or in GX loader. When you are in the priiloader you can choose to go to the system (WII) menu.

Is it in no way possible, for instance through a app(dol) in HBC to go back to the Wiimenu when the settings are Autoboot=file, return=autoboot (child friendly), without restarting. Please tell how, if it is possible?

You can get to the HBC screen from GX, that feature was added after about rev700. Once in HBC press home, that then gives you the choice to goto system menu.

Ok...if I get you properly..the Loader has to be installed on the SD to work and not on the USB...but the picture data can be stored on the USB.

If you are talking about the three ways of loading GX, they are,

Standard, in HBC, all data on SD card.
Channel, picture data can be on SD card or USB.
Forwarder, picture data on SD or USB.

Boot from priiloader is only, from .dol of standard or forwarder.

Tried again...loaded my USB LOADER Forwarder on the SD and installed the DOL file in priiloader and set autoload=file....gave me errors again...so it'll work only on Channel for me.

    Oh well....too bad.
