I've got V4.1E, preloader 0.29, HBC 1.0.6. I know I can't get preloader to go to bootmii because of the JODI / HAXX thing and I've downloaded preloader v0.3, but I'm to scared to install it. Thing is, it mentions in the readme to press + to install, (so I thought great, lets go), but then it says to hold b to use IOS249. Do I need to hold b or not. If I've already got a hacked Wii and preloader .029, can I just install the update ? The reason for wanting it installed is for brick protection (I've got a backup of my NAND). Am I right in my reason for wanting to go from 0.29 - 0.30 or can somebody shed some light for me.

I've read loads of posts on this site but seem to end up going round in circles and not getting the answer I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You will be using 249, so hold B and press +.
The original 0.29 will not goto the new HBC. For complete compatibility use priiloader 0.3b and HBC 1.0.6.

Got this working nicely on my 4.2U system. Updated Priiloader to 0.3b rev48, installed the USB Loader GX r874 dol (put it on my FAT32 partition on the USB drive), set Autoboot=file and Return=Autoboot and it works great; thanks for the info!

One question - I'm not using an SD card; when I click on the HBC icon in USB Loader GX, I can't get to it (says "No .boot or .dol found"). What else do I need on the FAT32 partition to get HBC to load?
    4.2U - cIOS 38r14 - Bootmii/Boot2 - Priiloader 0.3b rev48 - Hermes v4 IOS 222/223 - USB Loader GX rev874c - WD Essential 500GB HDD
Please remember to hit if I've been of any assistance to you.

If you are using the standard GX from HBC, and you have the files on the HDD, you need to change the location in the GX settings. Change from SD to HDD.

I did change all the Custom Paths to USB:\\ when I first started using GX so I wouldn't need the SD card. Will check again; is there somewhere else to tell it where to load HBC from?

There is just the GX settings.
Are you just using the standard setup from HBC.
If using autoboot you will be using a forwarder.
That forwarder .dol can be downloaded from the GX site and used with the forwarder when instaqlled.

I'm using the .dol in the root of my USB FAT32 partition - installed that in Priiloader and now Autoboot=file and Return=Autoboot; all that works great.

I set the GX Custom Path for HBC to USB:\\apps and when I click on the HBC icon in GX I see a list of those apps; however, I can't get to the HBC screen itself from GX (and to the System Menu from there). Not a biggie, just looking for a way to exit USB Loader GX into the Wii System Menu without having to power off the Wii and hold Reset while starting up.

This is using HBC 1.0.6 and GX .dol r874.

    Catul,
You're not actually booting to GX off your FAT32 unless you install the forwarder as WiiJohn said - the "forwarder" needs to be the file installed in priiloader. That is also why your settings for the custom path aren't working. To be able to get to the system menu from GX, set priiloader to boot to file, return to system menu.

I don't have an SD card in the Wii; I did install the file in Priiloader (it's located on my FAT32 partition) and that part works great. I set Return=Autoboot since I want it to go back to GX when I quit a game.

I just thought I could get to HBC from GX, and then to the System Menu from there?

I have USB Loader GX set to autoboot on prilloader rev48 on my 4.2U. On power-up, the USB Loader home screen shows, but the program doesn't load and then it goes to System Menu. Seems to be similar issue reported here, but no real solution there.

I used this for the dol forwarder: USB_Loader_GX_Forwarder.dol

Any ideas on why program isn't loading? Should I go back to earlier version of priiloader? Thanks.
