How to Get Monster Hunter 3 Working and be able to Play Online with it!

So you got your "copy" of monster hunter 3 and Want to play it but get an annoying bleep after you press the first option?
Don't worry there is a fix. If you need to patch your Wii to be able to run the new IOS55, then please [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] use that to also get your game english patched.
Now I know you can get an easier way of running it but that's for USB Loaders and I Don't have an external HDD so this is my way of getting the game working. It does work for playing online also with USB and backup disc.(not tested either yet)
Gecko didn't work for me so here's what I did.
What you need:
cIOS, Softchip r99 a downgradable wii, monster hunter 3 and also the ability to know how to use a Wii menu in other languages. (It's simple trust me)

1) Get Firmware Downgrader 1.1 from Waninkoko's site and place it into the apps section of your SD Card. Make sure to rename the .dol file to boot.dol otherwise it won't work.
2) Downgrade to the 3.2 of your choice. (best idea to select your own region when you do this)
3) Wait for it to downgrade and then restart your Wii. If you want you can change your shop country code but don't bother.
4)Get AnyRegionChanger and do that same as you did for Firmware Downgrader 1.1 with the boot.dol and keep all the files there (even the source files) and place them into the apps section of your SD card
NOTE: IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR WII, THIS IS BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THE STEPS PROPERLY
5)Open AnyRegionChanger and follow this guide I found on youtube because I use a 3.2E wii and this one's just easier to follow:

Just make sure you select Japan instead of the region provided there. They also provide a Japan 3.2 Installation guide in that same video.
6)Reboot Wii, enter HBC and open up wadmanager. Assuming you put the softchip r99.wad in the wad folder of your SD card, install that.

7) Open up softchip and make sure you have your Monster Hunter 3 "copy" inside.
8) Use these exact settings and make sure you set your IOS to 55
Game's Language: Japanese
Patch Country Strings: Disabled
Autoboot: Disabled
Silent: Disabled
Logging: Disabled
Remove 002 Protection: Enabled
Fake IOS Version: Disabled:
Load Requested IOS: Enabled
9) Press A and your now playing Monster Hunter 3
Note:If you wish to play online, in AnyRegionChanger, you can change the shop country code. Just make sure to delete your previous wii shop channel account before doing so. You will lose all of your stuff from the Wii Shop channel that you purchased however, so Only do it if your THAT serious about playing it online. If you do want to play it online, head to the minegarde forums as a lot of people there also play online. Just don't mention that your using a pirated copy. They dont like pirates(... yarr)

I did fix the semibrick though. Any problems with 3.2E firmwares please tell me as I probably had the same problem.

congrats for the guide (haven't tested it by the way,) but jeez that's tough... is n't there an easier way? i heard there is a 223 ios which allows to play through usb... what about it?

Unfortunately I still don't have a USB Drive so I can't test anything with the words USB Loader. This is from a Disc which is how I play everything, so I'm still waiting on a nice external HDD to copy all my games over to. the usb loader one is much much easier but this also gets you playing monster hunter 3 online (if you pay for it of course)

Thx for the post, I finally managed to get it going on my wii as well, even though i did it with a slight different way. Here's my summary:

USB loader:
Try to use Uloader instead of GX. For some reason, Uloader loads up every time whereas GX is a hit and miss.
Get cios 223 (37 merge 36) installed, select Language Jap, cios 223 to load.
Only works for solo game only. Doesn't allow to go online (Trust me on this, I was unable to get the disc working before, so I tried numerous time on the HDD, no good)

Disc loading:
Softchip R99, ios 55, apply bug fix cios 55.
During the setup, use Japanese, use ios 55 to load, 002 enable, and it should load.
If need to go online, need to use Any Region Changer (ARC) to change wii shop channel to Jap, since server is in Jap only. Has to accept a japanese version of EULA as well. For directions and consequences pls refer to the top of the thread. There is a 20 day free trial, after that u need wii points to go online.
If u think u have done everything correctly, double check your disc image (ISO) or your disc, it could possibly be a bad media (I reinstall everything numerous time and still no go, only found out it was a bad disc, I ended up using my friend's copy (Verbatim -R), whereas my taiyo yuden disc doesn't load at all.

Here's my 2 cent. I know how it feels when u wanted to play it so desperately, but can't get it running due to whatever the reason was.

PS: US Wii 4.0U, wiikey modded, normally using USB GX loader except online for MH3.

Awesome, thanks for the post, I can add the USB Loader stuff to the top post, and also I always use Verbatim. They just seem to work a hell of a lot better than the other stuff imo.

ok so I got the entire region changing to work but now when I try to get online, after the percentage is full I get a message in Japanese. I dont understand what im doing wrong. I follow the video and change the firmware to Japanese
