The way I did it above in my post works. I can choose the difficulty, settings, profiles and whatever else is there.

Thanks. I'll definitely keep it mind as an option. I was thinking of a USB loader though, since that's primarily how I play my backups and I haven't installed cioscorp.

Yeah I have the same issue. Does anyone know of a way to load it through USB and reach the menu?

Hmm Question. I know we have the dvd disc for Metroid Prime 1 and 2 for the Trilogy. Is there a way to make instead of 1 and 2 running on it, JUST have Prime 3? The reason WHY is because I'm trying to unlock the bonus features.

Hi. Thanks for all the relevant information everyone. I'm still having an issue though. I have a 4.2 US Wii running the OneUp US release. I've gotten the menu and all three games working using Neogamma, making a game save slot, and then booting to the alt .dols directly. I had a little video bugginess that had been mentioned. I would lose camera control, and gun pulses weren't following the retical. I used the Patch Video setting in Neogamma to Patch All, and it solved this issue completely. The games are beautiful.

However, I would like to solve the problem others seem to be having which is the matter of being able to run the games from the main menu, select more than one slot, setting difficulty, etc. When I try to load the games from the main menu, I get the half green screen crash issue. I can only play in Veteran difficulty. I've read through the whole thread and it seems like the only way to get this working is to install cIOSCORP. I don't have an external HDD so I haven't had success with the USB Loaders. I'm not even sure people with USB Loaders don't have this issue too. Can anyone offer a solution other than cIOSCORP? All of my games are working, including NSMB, Red Steel 2, SSBB, Monster Hunter 3, etc through Neogamma and it would be great if I didn't have to make any big changes. I'd hate to ruin those games' functionality even if it fixed MPT completely. I'd rather play in veteran mode than mess something up.
If cIOSCORP is really the only way, can anyone attest to its functionality with those games as well as any ones I haven't mentioned? From what I've been reading, even though cIOSCORP is in version 3.5 or 3.6 now, It doesn't seem like it's highly recommended, even if you do know what you're doing. I have a NAND backup and have backed up my game saves so even if i were to brick, I could re-softmod, but I'd like to avoid the trouble if there's a simpler solution. Thanks again!

Regarding the saves issue. I live in a family with two younger brothers, one of which (at least) will also be interested in playing Metroid Prime 1 and 2. We have 3 as a stand alone, and 1 & 2 on the Gamecube, so it's not a major loss regardless.

Anyway, Metroid Prime Trilogy only loads from one save slot when using .dol, right? What if you boot up the menu, and choose another profile first? Then reset, or something? Or would that make no difference what so ever.

I'm just trying to work out how it decides the save slot and/or difficulty.

I'm a new member here but I have been reading this thread for a while. I was looking through this thread to see if I could find the answer to my question but could not find it. So I'm going to ask it. Has anybody gotten Metroid Prime Trilogy working 100% (multiple save files, changing difficulty settings, no error screens and no lag) with a usb loader and HDD. If this question has been answers before I'm sorry but I'm a newbie to this.

When You Just Switch slots the .dol still loads the save from slot 1 in the menu i have found a method to work around this though it is a bit tedious.

With My Method You Can have 2 Saves.

Load Into title to make first save in slot 1

after save is created make 2nd save in slot 2

Then Play Game However Works For you.

when you want to switch saves load the title menu

copy slot 1 to slot 3

    erase slot 1

copy slot 2 to slot 1

    erase slot 2

copy slot 3 to slot 2

    erase slot 3

Repeat whenever you want to swap saves.
