Problem booting from SD Card Waninkoko 1.5

Hi people, I am relatively new to this and am struggling to find the answer to my problem.

I have recently softmodded my wii with the "Softmodding for dummies V4.1" I believe that comes with "cIOS 36 rev10".

Most things seem to be fine, i can boot backups from dvd-r no problem. My issue is with the waninkoko SD/USB Loader 1.5. I can install/rip a game to the SD card no problem. Then i choose to boot the game, to which it responds
    "Booting Wii game, Please Wait..."

The screen then goes black and i get
"An error has occured, Press the eject button, remove the game disc, and turn the power off, Please read the Wii manual for more information"

I have tried 2 different SD cards, several games all with the same result.

I have also taken the game I ripped with waninkoko 1.5 from the SD card using WBFS Manager to extract the iso, I then patched the update and burned it to a DVD-R. The game works fine from the DVD-R

It seems when the game is ripped to the SD card there is no problem with the rip, it's just booting from the SD card which isn't working.

I have searched for answers but to no avail. Any help would be really appreciated as i am wanting to store me backups on an external hdd and boot them from there.

    Thanks in advance!

I agree that a HDD is the way to go and that is my plan but i just wanted to test things out before i went ahead and bought a new HDD. The SD card is formatted in WBFS as the loader does that before ripping the game, I would assume it should work but it doesn't seem to be. Maybe i should try the GX loader and see if that works. Should I go ahead and buy the HDD and hope for the best? what do you think?

    Peace out

OK so I managed to borrow an external HDD a seagate freeagent 120gb to be precise and i got a little further.

One game gave me a different error, another started to boot but then failed, and another booted to the menu, let me select my game then crashed out. This was the same with waninkoko loader and GX loader. I guess it's just all down to using the correct HDD. I'll check a compatibility list and buy one that is recommended. Cheers for your help.

    Peace out

Ok Just to clarify. I borrowed a friends USB memory stick and it worked no problem so it's all just down to the compatability of the device you are using.

Peace out and thanks for you help 420soljah808
