Not sure if this is right...System 4 questions

I have a first gen Wii that has had all of the system updates. I believe this puts us on System 4? Anyway. A friend sent me the stuff to do the "Twilight Princess" exploit, and it wouldn't work of course. But using his directions, and a download of what I believe was "Bannerbomb", I managed to get both the USB Loader 1.5, and the Homebrew channel on our Wii. It seems to be workign okay, loading ISO's off of a WBFS formated drive that I had laying around. However there are a few questions I do have. Seeing as to hwo I'm a noob, I'm not even sure what keywords to search for.

1.) I have to have the USB Loader files on a SD card that has to stay in the slot, or the USB Loader channel locks up the Wii. Can this be fixed?

2.) Virtual console stuff. Can I load VC games like this?

3.) What other thigns can I do this without screwing it up? I mean, I have downloaded 2 different Metroid Prime 3 ISO's and neither work. They both keep telling me to insert the disc. Did I do something wrong?

    Please excuse my Noobieness.

With the locking up, it's because USB Loader is storing and looking for it's settings on the sdcard. Along with possible album art.

You can load VC & Wiiware games with "Wad manager", you'll run it from inside HBC.

Metroid Prime 3 requires a specific version of cios 249. I forget which one, I want to say rev12 is the magic number for it. But don't quote me on that. As for what else you can do. You always have a minor risk when installing wads (channels). So try to get them from popular and well established sources. Don't just install anything you find on google.

But now that you've gotten over the hard bit, you can install emulators for nearly every system you can imagine short of last-gen consoles. You can also install mplayer-ce to play nearly any video/media format, including streaming from your PC over wifi.
