The common misconception for most people using loaders is that if they have an NTSC system they force NTSC, and if they have PAL they force PAL. This is incorrect, if you were to play a PAL game on an NTSC system, you force PAL, so it forces the video to load from PAL to NTSC.

By 4.4 do you mean 4.3?

Seems that the word misconception is the fundamental core of this thread LMAO

I can vouch for the fact if you use composite cables and change Wii settings to 480p instead of TV settings it will load very nicely. I did force Pal as stated above.

Can someone explain the differences between the component cables and the cable that comes with a NTSC American Wii?

Composite cables are the regular RCA cables
Component cables have HD picture, but the wii is incapable of HD so it's pointless to have them other than run PAL games without forcing.

Fixed that for you. I assume you meant "component" instead of "composite" -because composite is 480i...not "480p." No reason to leave misinformation on the Internet!

Composite has a single, yellow connector for the picture and supports 480i (interlaced) output. Even at 480i, the picture quality is noticeably-poorer than component or S-Video.

Component has three connectors for the picture (red, green, and blue) and supports both 480i and 480p (progressive) output.

Both are usually paired with stereo audio connectors (red, white)...so composite usually has three connectors total (1 for video) and component has 5 connectors (3 for video). It can be confusing because you end up with two red-colored connections that you should be careful not to cross.

Please delete your post. It's completely wrong. You're right that the Wii doesn't support high-definition...but it does support enhanced definition (480p "EDTV"), which is noticeably better and requires the component video cable.

    Language: Console Default
    Video: Game Default
    Video Patch: sneek+all
    VIDTV: On
    IOS: 249
I'd really like to know why yours works and mine doesn't. I suspect your TV actually does support 50hz...or maybe that "sneek" option requires me to put something else on my SD / HDD...? If SNEEK isn't bundled with CFG Loader, I don't think I have it on my system.

I'm trying to prepare this to send to someone who uses a regular composite cable (yellow connector), so I connected an old composite cable. Most of the recommendations I've tried in this thread don't work. When it does boot, I get black-and-white vertical rolling. This is with a Sony 52XBR-910 HDTV.

I'm running Pikmin2 on Usbloader Gx but when I start playing the game the bottom of the screen is cut off making it unable for me to see my HUD. Is there any way to adjust this?
