I have this working perfectly fine with the Configurable USB Loader. I have a Red Wii 4.3U softmodded. NO COMPONENT CABLES. My TV does not accept PAL signals. I switched the iso region to NTSC with RegionFrii and set the options as following:

    Language: Console Default
    Video: Game Default
    Video Patch: sneek+all
    VIDTV: On
    IOS: 249

    Help with settings

    Hey all,

I've tried the majority of the settings presented in this thread to no avail. I'm trying to load a backup of the PAL version of Pikmin 2. I have run it through regionfrii and brickblocker, but those do nothing to help. I set CFG loader to patch+all and turn on VIDTV. I've also tried forcing NTSC, but that seems to work less. What I am able to get when using the above configuration is a blue screen on my TV and no audio. However, it does appear the game is running correctly as I am able to use the home button on the wii remote eventually and can feel the rumble on the controller as the pointer crosses the Reset/Wii Menu icons. I can also power down the wii and got it to reset by sensing the vibrations unlike when I force NTSC it seems to lock-up the wii.

Now, I've gotten Far Cry Vengeance PAL to work by forcing NTSC and applying patch+all and running through regionfrii. It works in full color. I am using the same procedures and settings for both games, but only Far Cry Vengeance has worked. I am NOT using component cables either.

I am having a hard time understanding why one game will work and one will not. I don't think I have a bad iso as I am able to get to the home menu as I stated above. Can someone shed some light as to why Pikmin 2 does not work? And please don't say I need component cables, I have a PAL game working without component cables, and I will need some reason as to why I need them before I will purchase them.

Thanks for the thread and any help you can provide.

component cables + wiiflow worked perfect for me, the component cables are the important part.

I got it to work by downloading (torrenting) the JAP version burned it and it runs fine. Just use the Japanese version because it has the same video coding as NTSC.
Down there is the MODs I have on my Wii

    Wii 4.3| cIOS 249 rev20b (Waninkoko) | cMIOS rev5 (Waninkoko)| cIOS 222, 223 v4 (Hermes) (Only works in Flow Loader)| Wii cover Flow Loader| USB Loader GX| NeoGamma R7| GC Backup Launcher Xi| GC Backup Laucher v0.2| NeoGamma R9 beta 44

    Worked

I have an NTSC Wii with cIOS249 (rev 21006)(d2x6) and a multiboot disc with Pikmin1 for Wii (NTSC) and Pikmin2 for Wii (PAL). I used Multiboot v1.0 channel and set the settings to:
    Game's Language: English
Set Video Mode Using: System Settings
Force Video Mode: PAL 480i(or default here)
    Autoboot: Disabled
    Silent: Disabled
    Logging: Disabled
    Remove 002 Protection: Disabled

    *CLICK A*
    then

    Partition Name: Pikmin2 for Wii
    Force video mode: PAL 480i

So far, it works 100%. Of course if I want to run Pikmin1, I just reset all the settings to default.

EDIT: And as for the gamecube versions, I loaded 2 shrunken images on 1 disc with Gamecube Multi ISO Creator and they seem to work fine with Gamma v8.

Why have you got 2 games from different regions?

...because there's no NTSC version of Pikmin 2 Wii, so I loaded it onto the same disc as Pikmin 1 NTSC. Saves space on my HDD and keeps me from wasting discs
