Thank you guys who answered me privately.
In a nutshell: there is no way to play PAL Pikmin2 on a NTSC Wii. So lets wait for the right Pikmin2 version.

    See ya

Hi uztz. This is how I got it to work. First off I have my Wii connected via the component cable, don't think it should have any effect but, just is case.

I ran Pikmin 2 ISO through RegionFrii (Google it) and changed the region to USA. I ran it again to make sure it did show up as USA (it will also say game code mismatch, ignore it)

I loaded it from NeoGamma using VideoMode: Disc, VidPatch Yes. There was another setting below it that I used (sorry, can't remember, just started using NeoGamma yesterday) and I set that to Normal. Pikmin 2 loaded up in full color and plays fine. This works for DVD, USB and SD

For USB Loader GX I used VideoMode Disc Region, enabled 002 Fix and VidPatch. Loads just as well. I used the same settings, except I set the videomode to Auto or Force NTSC when I didn't run the game through RegionFrii and it didn't work. Seems like patching the game region makes all the difference.

hey guys, i also just did a regionfrii (v1.21) on the iso before burning it to disk.

then ran neogamma r7 and it briefly shows a green screen and then goes to black. tried various neogamma settings with no luck.

also running in comp video output (480p).

    thoughts?

This worked for me. I used Regionfrii to patch it to USA. Then I used WBFS Manager to copy the game to my USB drive. Worked in NeoGamma and USB Loader GX (both the latest versions).

    For NeoGamma:
    Videomode: Disc
    VIDTV patch: YES
    Videopatch: Normal

    For USB Loader GX:
    Videomode: System Default
    VIDTV Patch: YES
Error 002 Fix: No (the only discrepancy from the instructions above)

This method creates a perfect game experience. Colors are NTSC, framing is correct, and the frame rate is smooth. My TV (which cannot even display PAL) says it is an NTSC 480p signal. I use component cables.

hi guys, i am trying this too, but no luck. one key difference is i have the regionfrii - modified ISO burned to a dvd, and am trying to launch that dvd from neogamma (r7) and i quickly get a green screen then all black and no luck. i don't have a usb drive, but i guess i could borrow one and try it that way.

i think there is one mixup...for neogamma the vidtv patch is yes, no, normal as the possible settings. for videopatch the settings are only yes/no.

Hi, yes I tried all these steps that you listed. I got RegionFrii, patched it to USA, but it still says in the Region ID section that it is "P" which means PAL, that didn't change. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to change or not. Anyway, I did as you said, Neo Gamma r7, cIOS rev 14, VideoMode: Disc, VidPatch Yes, and then the last setting to normal. It still made everything all black and white, and it was like the picture was zoomed in a little bit. When I started a new game, I couldn't see anything like how many pikmin I had out on the field or anything. (Basically any details in those boxes would not show at the bottom cuz it was zoomed in) ..so uh..it didn't work for me. What did I do wrong??? And if possible, could you maybe give me a link to where you got your Pikmin 2 Iso??

    Lifter's settings are clearer

    For NeoGamma:
    Videomode: Disc
    Patch Video: Normal
    VIDTV patch: YES

    For USB Loader GX:
    Videomode: System Default
    VIDTV Patch: YES
Error 002 Fix: No (the only discrepancy from the instructions above)

But yes, the Region ID will remain the same, the Region Code is the only one to change

Just saw one more thing that might have been missing, I also patched the ISO to IOS 249 using ISO Patcher.

I got the game from this site. You might have to scroll down...and register Has TONS of other games as well.

Also, I did re-mod my WII following this guide after I botched the first attempt at upgrading to 4.2. Shouldn't have made a difference since it worked before as well.

Hi, I got mine to work with either the usb loader OR burning a disc and then launching the disk with NeoGamma R7. The trick as mentioned above is getting a good iso. i use btjunkie to find the iso from WiiSOS. my originally downloaded iso was junk. i patched it with region frii and then it runs smoothly from disk or usb. very sweet, thanks for all the help here.

fyi, you can't run the disk from the disk channel on the main wii screen, you have to use usbloader GX or neogamma to run the game.

I don't know a lot about all the CIOS stuff, but i did previously a couple of weeks ago, go through all the softmod stuff to get super mario bros working directly from disk.

also, i am running in 480p mode with component cables. not sure if this is required.

Yeah I downloaded the iso that you got and everything, and..it says it can't write the Region code to the iso. Some weird error like that. So I couldn't even get passed that. I tried running it in an emulator and it just locks up and starts skipping after "Pikmin" in the Nintendo logo part.
