    Exclamation Please help!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey everyone!
Trying to play burnt and multi regional wii games. I downloaded homebrewsafely and installed. Through that I got the channels homebrew and backup launcher. Tried to play the game through backup launcher but it comes up telling me to unplug and eject the disk or if I try and use the hooks it doesn't come up at all! I have wii version 4.1e from Australia. What am I doing wrong or need to do?! Please help!!!!!

    Question from a N00b!

    Hey guys,

I posted this question in another section already, but i got the advice by gen3sf to post it in this section. So mind you this is not spam or anything to that affect......

    Hi people,

As you can see if you look at my name, i am a total n00b at wii hacking. But i am not lazy to learn so please do not ban me lol.

I installed HBC and DVDX with the hackmii installer but i want to be able to play backup games, i can't install bootmii as boot2 (newer wii boot1 prevents it) so i skipped the bootmii install. I am afraid that i will brick my brothers wii, and i read that i can't recover the system (NAND) if i use bootmii is IOS.

Do i need bootmii to play backup games at all, are there safe equivalents that i can use on the newer wii? I hope that i am not permanently banned seeing this is related to bricking (or the fear of).

Furthermore i searched the forums for an answer, but there is so much information and i just can't figure out what to do.

    Thanks

    N00bster

I truly hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you....

you don't need bootmii to play backups - try preloader as the next best thing....it's included in this guide

    Thank you so much Dogeggs......

Can i also make a backup of my system to restore bricking? Or are the chances slim that it will happen?

    Thanks again,

chances are very slim and preloader will get you out of most problems - bootmii for brick protection only really works if you can install as boot2 so best skip it and just be careful.....most bricks happen when people delete ios, so as long as you don't do anything daft like that you will be fine

Great info man, so i'll just try to install preloader and i also have to upgrade i think because i am on 3.3E?

I already downloaded your softmod pack and i already had HBC and DVDx installed, so would the steps be like this?:

    1- Upgrade firmware
    2- Install preloader
    3- Get a Cios
    4- Install backup launcher?

Sorry for the multitude of Questions

as you are on 3.3 you can downgrade to 3.2, it may be a better option for you...and get your cios first then up/downgrade, then preloader, then backup loader...your best bet is to follow the guide

    Hi Dogeggs,

I followed your guide till up to step 4 and 5a, but i am stuck at how to down/upgrade because i have no internet connection on the wii. What's the best offline method to accomplish that? My brother's wii is 3.3E but of course i need to downgrade to 3.2.

    Thanks....
