    Loader GX working fine until....

    Hi, I'm stumped (just mentally).
I soft modded my wii about two years ago. No real problems, a few games don't work (black screens and freezing) but overall I've been very satisfied.
Now, all of a sudden GX loader isn't showing the games when I copy them to the HDD. (the old ones are still there)
I tried backing up Wii sports Resort (original disc). It said it had installed ok but nothing was on the loader (no cover etc).
This has also happened with the other few games I've tried to put on through WBFS Manager (which I've always used).
The only thing I can possibly put this down to is a change in the drives letter (I know this seems a weak solution but I have no other idea)
    Any ideas
    Thanks

Since you softmodded so long ago, it is likely your mod and loader are pretty out of date. Tough to troubleshoot something that old. I would suggest making a run through the Softmod ANY Wii guide (link below in my sig). It will update your mod and give you more recent versions of USB loaders. This should also fix your blackscreen and freezing issues.

    That's great advice..
    Thanks.
However, one of the weird things is that a game that I'd put on the hdd 4 days ago disappeared 2 days later.

Im taking a wild guess here, but it could be the game somehow got corrupted. I have seen that happen a few times with wbfs formatted drives. TBH I switched to FAT32 loading a few years ago (which is now the recommended method) and haven't looked back. Ideally you would convert to fat32, but that is your call.

I think that might be the best solution. Luckily I haven't got too much on there so a reformat sounds like a good idea..
Thank you so much for your help.

Actually you can use wbfs2fat and it will convert it in realtime with no data loss. Download HERE.

And if you want more information on FAT32 drives and what you can do with it, we have a guide for that (link in my signature)
