My Wii sees my HDD and games but gx wont load them...

So a friend softmodded my wii about a year ago, and then suddenly moved away without polishing or showing me how to use anything on it, so recently when I needed to update the wii to transfer to my wii u, I had to learn why my wii would not connect to update, long story short, I have used the guide here to copy over everything, but now I have a external HDD with games on it that I am not sure how to play.

I have USB Loader GX and Configurable USB Loader, and both of them see my external and that there are games on them, but if I try to load one, it just goes back to my wii home screen. Any help would be great! The guide here was very helpful!

Any help on this? Or any questions I can answer to figure it out?

    Read these:

Wiihacks - Nintendo Wii Hacks Community - Forum Rules

Specifically about waiting 24 hours before "bumping your post," searching (yes, we actually do have guides here --- formatting/configuring USB HDs, USB Loader GX, etc).

Apologies for bumping too soon, didnt meant to step on any toes.

I did do some searching but I guess I could not find the right search string.

Thank you for your informative response. I will hold out till someone can get to my query.

Syscheck looks good. Has that drive ever worked before? And is it on our compatibility list?

Like I said, my friend did all the modding and putting games onto my external that I bought for that reason, the guy that did the softmod never showed me how any of it worked.
    Size: 1.5TB
    Brand: Seagate
    Model: Free Agent Go Flex
    Enclosure: not sure
    Format: not sure
    Firmware/Softmod: not sure
    Loader: CFG or GX?
    Working/Not Working

    Product Number: 9ZFAD1-500

Thanks for taking the time to help me out, I hope I am posting this as close to the forum rules as I can.

Hey guys, just checking in again, to see if anyone has anymore insight on my problem, or if I can provide any more information that might lead to a solution. Youtube video? Something?

    Thank you in advance.
