I know this is an old thread and I'm sorry if it goes against some rule to revive an old thread but OMG thank you so much.
After following the instructions here I finally got my HDD to respond and load my games. Now I have my GC games and my WII games on one drive. <3

I have to bring this thread back to life I'm afraid. I have Wii games working fine on a FAT32 HD but now would like to have a few GC games on there as well. I need to get the partition to 32 clusters without losing all my backups. Every partition program I download doesn't give me the option to change cluster size. eausus does but that is under the format option and I don't want to loose everything. I'm just banging my head against the wall at this point, there are no clear directions that I have found that explains how to change cluster size with a freeware partition program without losing everything. Please advise. Thank you.

Yes, I've read that. I downloaded Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced and singed up for the free trial. Which is still a demo version and does not allow me to commit the operation of changing the cluster size from 64kb to 32kb because "some features are not available in demo version" or some such message. Can someone point me in the right direction of what program to use for this task without losing data. Candylove....? Anyone...? Thank you for any helpful responses.

GParted can do it, but with changing cluster size, you do realize you run the risk of corrupting the data, but grab that and put it on a thumbdrive/cd and see if that can bork it for you...

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that there was such a risk involved with changing the cluster size on a partition. I have all my Wii game back ups on there so I really don't want to lose everything if something where to go wrong... Can anyone else comment on their own experience regarding this? ty.

I've never tried doing what you want to do. I know others have done it with success, but I've never tried it.

I've always backed up my data to another hard drive, reformatted, then restored the data.

OK, all set here, everything up and running. I acquired a different version of Acronis and was able to easily change cluster size to 32kb without a hitch. Thank you to all for the help. Much appreciated.
