I'm desperate :( please help! dios mios issues w/ USB loader GX...

So I am trying to run my gamecube backups discless. I already looked at some tutorial, and figured out how to get my backups working. But I want to go discless. My wii drive is a 2006 drive, and it's having issues.



Whenever I try to load the game, is says something about a apploader error.



I have been switching between dios mios 2.0 and 2.5. I can't figure it out. I can boot it if I put the disc in. But I can still hear the drive. So I know the drive is working.


I tried using a retail disc(that wasen't my game. In this case my game was animal crossing) and I put a different retail in. And it just loads the retail game. I tried a backup. And nothing...




I am really at a loss. I need help please...

• Verify that your HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less, this error can happen with 64KB cluster size.
• Try to install the game again (delete the old folder before)
• Your loader is using an incorrect config version

Verify that your HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less.(must be formatted to 32kb clusters for Dios Mios)Use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size: I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. (I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS) If you use any other HDD program you will have to backup everything before you change the cluster size.
Update GX to R1204. The latest GX is in the bottom of this page USB Loader GX . Replace the boot.dol in your SD or USB /apps/ usbloader_gx with the updated one and update your GX channel with USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad. You do not need a disc in it for it to work , also the NoDisc setting should be OFF. Use DMToolbox to install the game or GX.

um...i don't understand. there's like 3 folders. which one do I use? (with the new USB loader GX thing you gave me)

The Main GameCube Path has to be USB1. GC games only works from 1st partition (USB1). How many partition do you have and are they FAT32 or NTFS or WBFS ?
To change it to 1st partition (USB1), you have to change all partitions to logical and then change the FAT32 to primary 1st plus active and then the other partition to primary, so the FAT32 is 1st partition (USB1) and the other partition is 2nd partition (USB2). Only use DM 2.5 with the new USB Loaders. It is recommended to install DM with IOS236

Yeah, it's on 2. I guess I have to make the partition of my FAT32 HDD(which I specifically quarantined off for gamecube backups) as primary?

The Main GameCube Path has to be USB1. The games folder has to be in USB1 for DIOS MIOS to work. I had a NTFS HDD for Wii games and videos and I made a FAT32 partition just for GC games but it was USB2 so I change it to USB1 and all GC games works perfect from USB1 and the Wii games works perfect from USB2

wait. So I never needed to partition my HDD? as long as the games folder was in USB1?


Well, I have that area partitoned anyway. I don't want to change the cluster size on my HDD because won't mess something up? if not, how do I redo a partition on my HDD?





But I think it be easier just to figure out how to get that part of my HDD as primary, I looked up a guide for windows 7. But the option won't appear, as you can see here:

Only choose one option:
Option 1 : Move your games folder to the swissknife partition and see if it works. For the wii one partition is better than two. If it does not work it maybe 64kb cluster size.Use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size:(I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS) It will not mess up anything, everything will work perfect after. If you use any other HDD program you will have to backup everything before you change the cluster size.
Option 2 : use any HDD program change both partition to logical and then change the GAMECUBE partition to primary 1st plus active and then the SWISNIFE partition to primary, so the GAMECUBE partition is 1st partition (USB1) and the SWISNIFE partition is 2nd partition (USB2)
