Ca 4.1U Softmodded Wii, Netflix randomly blackscreens

I installed Netflix (Canada) via the Shop Channel on my softmodded 4.1U Wii. It works, in that I can play content, but on occasion the screen goes black.

Mostly when the "loading" screen is on for too long (crappy internet connection) the screen goes completely black. Moving the Wiimote around and pressing A has no effect. Pressing B exits content playback and returns to the episode/movie description screen, which lets me resume.

Very rarely the screen goes black and playback continues - the audio keeps going. Often, this is alleviated by waving the Wiimote or pressing A to pause (the picture comes back when paused) and then play again.

Any ideas as to what this might be and/or how to fix it? Some sort of messed up screensaver functionality? Suggestions are welcomed!

Sounds like a crappy internet connection could be your problem. It takes bandwidth to stream videos.

Doubt it. In some cases a patched IOS is the only way to get it to work...

    BTW, Netflix Guide HERE.

Yes, the Wii has been softmodded. While the loading screen is a symptom of the crappy connection, mine is the only Wii I've seen which has exhibited this behaviour with the screen going completely black (loading bar disappears). It seems partially independent of the connection - just now content was loading, and just before the bar filled up the screen went black. We waited a little while and the sound came on. We waved the Wiimote and the picture was back - meaning the content continued to load after the screen went black.
