run this syscheck and it should tell you at the top of the report.
I am running version 4.3U and my homebrew version is 1.0.8 and whenever I select "DVD" in WiiMC it says that the DVD is unsupported, I have had this wii for a little over 2 years, is it too new to play DVD's? it's white?
ok, I looked at it and it says that my Wii DOES support DVD's, so why isn't it working?

The syscheck you used does not check for it. The version I posted for you will show you if it does or not.
sysCheck v2.1.0b14 by Double_A and R2-D2199
...runs on IOS58 (rev 6175).
System Menu 4.3E (v514)
The drive supports DVDs
Homebrew Channel 1.0.8 running on IOS58
Found 122 titles.
Found 51 IOS on this console. 5 of them are stub.
I tried out the other syscheck and it says that my Wii DOES support DVD's, so it must be another problem
drive date: 2008.07.14
I got the Wii 2 Christmases ago, 2009, I believe it was purchased on black friday at wal-mart
so, is it too young for DVD's?, or is something else screwed up? do I possibly need DVDX? I read that it came with the homebrew channel.

Did you follow the softmod any wii guide? If you did and skipped the install of system menu 4.1, that could be your problem. DVDX is outdated and not needed. but I think DVDs won't play on 4.2 and 4.3
