genuine Grand Slam Tennis PAL not going past title screen

    Hello All,

    I have a softmodded Wii 4.3 E.

I have genuine copy of Grand Slam Tennis which will not run off DVD drive, through the disc channel and neogamma. The closest I get is running it off USB disc with USB loader GX, but it stops at the title screen.

I have searched and have tried changing the Wii settings to PAL 525i, 480i, no go. Then I found a recommendation to use an old IOS 55 v4663. I installed it using MMM and enabled all the patches. Still no go past the title screen.

I have read somewhere about a cIOS 55 but not sure where to get and how to install.

If anyone in PAL territory has this game running on a softMOD Wii 4.3 can you please advise how you did it!

Hi Dude this is an old game and I remember some problems I had some issues with neogamma. I'm sure I eventually patched my ISO with ios patcher to load/run with ios 249[56] Then loaded to USB HDD I am in PAL region but i'm running a MAUIFROG, stable v4.1E mod ( with personal tweaks)

Try updating your cios 249 to d2x rev 7 base 56 using this guide

I downloaded d2x v 7 WAD Pack.rar. I installed cIOS249 d2x rev 7 base 56 using MMM. Neogammer still gives: the game disc could not be read, refer to the Wii operations manual". USB Loader GX still freezes at the game title screen. I then batch installed all of the d2xv7 pack. No joy, same problem, except I don't get ios reload block error from neogammer. And the Wii drive flashes the blue light.

Damn, I really want to play this game as its IMO the best tennis game on the Wii!

Hmm. Just tested Super MArio Galaxy 2 genuine. Disc channel says needs Wii system update. Was fine before I hacked it. BTW Not a good idea to do the system update, I'm guessing? But runs ok through neogamma.

COD Black OPS and NFS Nitro Montreal won't run with Neogamma without the cIOS 249[57] v20. The cIOS d2x v7 249[56] won't work with either of these.

Everything else I have works fine.

Can u try the game in another wii to rule out a problem with the disc?

  10. #10
Well i had a look at the disc and it is scratched. The rip file on usb is read as 5.3 G in size, but when I ripped it was 2.1 G in size. So I ripped it twice and ended up with errors. Looks like the disc is damaged. I'll try on a friends un-modded Wii and see how it goes. The local dvd rental shop has a machine that repairs dvd's with scratches so I'll see if they will run it through.
