Hello, this is my first time here. My sister surprised me with a Nintendo Wii this Christmas. I'm so looking forward to Xenoblade when it's released in the US and getting Skyward Sword within the week.
A little about myself...
I'm 31 as of last October. I live in California (for now) but won't get into anything more specific than that. I'm mostly a PC gamer but I still have a soft spot for consoles. My very first console was the original 8-bit NES. I own all Nintendo non-handheld consoles except the Gamecube. Besides that, I own a PSOne, PS2, TurboGrafx16, PC-Engine CORE GRAFX, PC-Engine DUO, Super NES, Genesis, 32X, SegaCD (lol...), Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Dreamcast. (Yes, I collect them, which I've stopped for now.)
I won't mention anything personal about myself, but I'm very good with computers. My first computer was an 8088 XT PC with 256 kB of RAM, and my first foray into programming was QBasic. I now deal mostly with PC hardware and software repair, troubleshooting, and upgrading as a side business. I also build computers, both desktop and server PCs. Currently I work as a bookkeeper and tax preparer.
My favorite gaming genres are RPG, strategy RPG, JRPG, Western RPG, real-time strategy, adventure/fantasy, adventure/sci-fi, survival/horror, and platformers.
I guess that's about it for an introduction. Nice to meet everyone here.

There are also other guides which you can find in the Guides and tutorials section
Once you have completed the guide you need to ascertain if your wii is capable of playing backups via the disc drive or whether you need to be usb loading.
Wii's post 2009 generally cannot play backups via the disc drive and have to use usb loading.
I recommend usb loading anyway as you can add an remove your games easily and there is no wear and tear on your disc drive and no messing about with discs etc.
