Like most Dads this Christmas I'm looking to not have my three year old destroy the 10 new Wii game I bought...
What are the latest and "cheapest" Wii compatible USB backup drives folks are getting these days?
If you've seen my other posts... the latest WD I had shipped isn't cutting it, but willing to try something else.
P.S. If there's already a NEW Backup Drive Recommended Thread, I apologize in advance...
I have used 500gb seagate desktop external hd and now onto seagate portables and they are both amazing. The portables don't need a power socket. Unfortunatly due to floods in Thialand you are gonna pay more than you where before for any hd as there is a shortage now.
I USED TO BE A WEREWOLF, BUT I AM ALRIGHT NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Dad, Grandpas think the same, I have used many, My Choices: Min 5400rpm Standalone 250gb max If it's for the kids. You will get approx 100 games onit how many games do you own. 60 80 120 160 250 320 gb all good stay away from USB3.0 seems to give problems. 7200rpm even better The lists are huge. I even put movies on my granchildrens it saves the originals getting scratched.
You will find lists and setup advice on wiihacks tutorials. Enjoy.
So NO USB 3.0... got it. I also had an issue with getting a newer model of a drive that I ordered that was 3.0 and wouldn't work. Sounds like Seagate is getting good praise. I'd be looking for something in the 750GB and up range, especially if I start dumping our Disney DVD's onto it. Any particular model recommended? From the list it isn't apparent which ones are currently still being sold vs. trying to find old or refurbished stock. Thanks!
Technology moves fast dude. I'm a little radical when it comes to drives as I look for spin speeds as a priority. Search before you buy and make sure you can either remove or access the ( green modes) auto Sleep, If you buy seagate I have found on their web site freeware to adjust/turn off sleep mode. But It's your choice, some HDD's are not to aesthetic. depends if it's on view. Expensive ATM as floods abroad have stopped production, Enjoy your Wii
