Need some help with blocked ports i have tried everything
Ok i get port forwarding and yes have been to portforward.com
i have been fine right up until i upgraded to bitcomet 1.07 and added a dlink dir-300 router which i only recently added for the wii wifi. i have the supplied modem from optus speedstream 4200
My pc is ethernet wired as is the second pc which is networked via the router.
wifi is working fine and will hit good downloads 350kbs utorrent says i have blocked ports (which i have only just installed to eliminate that it wasnt bitcomet issue).and of course bitcomet i get the yellow blocked port symbols. yes i have gone in and chosen other random ports.
i have been on the phone to both optus and dlink whom both say that my setup has opened up "all" ports on both router and modem. i have set the modem to napt
i have checked my firewall and bitcomet is on the list of exceptions and there is a list of ports on there also. so i have tried using one of those port to no avail.
grrr this all was good until i got this router and upgraded had good downloads and seeding...now has all gone cactus.
Any help or walk thrus would just be unreal if someone is willing to go thru this with me as i cannot see what to do next.
have you tried opening the config for your router, and manually forwarding a port? You can change the port used in utorrent in its options, and you can either try a different port and see if it will work, Or it will be a case of manually forwarding a port to a certain ip adress in your DHCP, eg for mine I need to open a port for 192.168.1.3 for my utorrent to work as it should.
I wouldve suggest portforward do they have your listed router on their and everything is set as it shoudl????
Port Forwarding for the Dlink DIR-300
I would find out what port utorrent is using, and manually forward that port to the ip address of the computer that you are using utorrent on.
thanks i have tried to step thru that also however get a tad lost down the bottom
so the name is whatever say bitcomet
22419 is the port that is on bitcomet (so i put this no in all three spots)
i did ip config and my default gateway is 192.168.0.1
and my ip address is 192.168.0.100 does that seem right that they are almost the same?
subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
so the ip address i did drop down menu went to fionaspc to get the ip which was 192.168.0.100
saved settings and still blocked?
is this just going to control panel getting to properties and instead of having it set as auto you put in the default gateways, ips etc as i tried that changing a few nos around...

yeah your router is generally 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
your ip addresses can start at .2 or anywhere really so your .100 seems right
only other thing maybe is trying a small range of ports
check if you tried it like this
or try the ranged ports and see if it makes a difference
k i am starting to think it isnt to do with the router as i unplugged router from it completely and all still blocked with lan going directly from modem to pc by ????

i am freaking out as i am going to get a kick in the pants from private torrents if i dont hurry and sort this out..grrr
Maybe with the modem directly into the computer try logging into the modem and checking any settings there may be in there.....
