I just tried 2 games (Mario Kart - Double Dash & Zelda (older version)) and they both won't let me play with the wiimote and I cant play them cause I don't have any Gamecube controllers.

Yah you need a Game Cube controller to play the Game Cube games. The controllers and memory cards are getting hard to find as well. I was in an EB games store and found new Nintendo brand Game Cube controllers for 34.99.
