wbfs partition not recognized on pc
I am new to Wii backup. A friend of mine helped me back up my games to a hard drive last week. Working fine with the games I already have on there. Today I went to add a new game I just bought. I converted the DVD to ISO on my PC and plugged the hard drive in. I have tried both WBFS Manager and Wii Backup Manager and with both programs I am unable to view the WBFS partition on the drive. The FAT32 partition shows up but that is it. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
If you just bought it then rip it to the HDD using a loader and original disc
True enough, but for the sake of personal knowledge, if I have an iso file of the game on my pc shouldn't I be able to add it to my hard drive using one of those programs? I just don't get why that partition doesn't show up.
Why are people still using WBFS partitions. GX loader and CFG loader will read fat32. no conflicts with reading wbfs game files, homebrew apps.Wiimc,CE player moviesfiles. AND your PC can read it as well. My PC won't show a formatted WBFS drive. You have to open with a Wii manager program.Run everything from HDD no need for SD card. Maybe Shift_lock can help, WBFS = Wii Based File System
or Windows Based File system OR am I getting lost here
Just an opinion.

It's the Pizza dude
I agree with your opinion Grandpa. Fat32 is far superior. If you guys haven't seen this yet, it is a really cool tool to help get those folks out of the dark ages of wbfs and into a fat32 format. Look HERE.

Make sure you have the latest version of the manager. Your pc should see the drive. Try wbfs manager and see what that does for you.
