Tired of the hypocrisy
Was on here the other day just to check if there's any issues with the new zelda game (there's not, by the way, it works perfectly if you know what you're doing) and got really annoyed with some of the senior members. I understand and appreciate what they do, but the fundamental hypocrisy of this site is a bit hard to take sometimes.
"We don't support piracy here." Really? You have step-by-step guides explaining how to hack the system software in order to play .iso files from a hard drive. What do you honestly expect will happen? There's even a guide explaining how to get the best download rates from bit torrent sites on here. What do you think people are going to do with that information?
I understand the legal ramifications here and appreciate that you want to have disclaimers, but it is a bit jarring to see the senior members accuse others of piracy when they've been giving out blueprints for pirate ships, advertising pirate crews, and telling everyone where the best place to ambush a Spanish galleon is.
Oh, and this post will be deleted in 3, 2, 1 ...
Yep, you and anyone else can do whatever they want with information. You can take Albert Einstein's equations and build a bomb if you want to.
Knowledge is power, aiding and abetting is lame and gets people fined millions of dollars.
You don't like what you see, fine, but realize you are not the one responsible for any of it.
You want to make use of a free service in concert with your own intelligence to maximize your own benefit, Or do you want to bitch because the world and it's components don't fit into your belief system?
We don't make the the Draconian rules that govern the internet, we give ppl free information and hope they have a level of common sense enough to appriciate it, use it to their advantage, and get on with their lives. Not come here and try and tie our website to their lack of understanding and caring about the consequences of their actions.
What you call hypocrisy, is your own failure to understand what is really going on the real world. And if you don't like what you see here, you are always free to look at something else.

No, actually what we give is the means to legally back up your own games to save them from wear an tear an to make the most of your wii through such things as homebrew. The fact that certain people take advantage of that to pirate games etc is out of our hands but to be blatantly open about it will get u the responses u have experienced.

I don't know why people are being so anal about this. Yes, there is a demo from E3 actually, not Gamescon, that leaked out and is online.
I see the mods on here trying to deny it like it doesn't exist but it does. GoNintendo and Zeldainformer among other sites have reported about it and you can search around and see it for yourself.
Regardless of whatever else may be "out there", the demo is legit and it exists.
I too was curious if I would have any issues running it as I havent updated my Wii in almost a year but didn't want to waste to my time downloading it when I could buy it shortly.
We don't deny that it's out there. We just don't wanna hear about it because we know that the game hasn't been released yet,
and if anyone has a copy, it's illegal, and we refuse to help them get it working.
Why is that so hard to understand??

And the FACT is, there was no full game leak 4 days ago when that discussion took place. Yes, there is as of yesterday, but there wasn't on 11/9. But there sure was a demo disc.
Maybe that was Blu's way of saying he didn't want to hear about it. And the fact is, if anyone does have a copy of the demo, then they are a pirate plain and simple,
no accusation need be made.
And I want to make this crystal clear. Until the new Zelda game is officially released, WiiHacks staff will not help anyone to get the game running on their Wii.

Here's an old adage I've heard. Many people enjoy peeing in the shower. If you are one of those people, and decide you want to pee in the shower, you'd do well not to talk about it in public. Noone here (except maybe DacoTaco) wants to know that you pee in the shower, nor do we care. So dont tell us. Capiche?

I'm sure snowfrost appreciates your apology over calling him a liar regarding the demo. The demo WAS released, the press reviewed it, hell I played it at PAX. And it was physically impossible for him to have a copy of the retail game as it hadn't hit the scene yet.

Anyhow I'll go back to lurking before I get called a liar as well.
Let me ask you this. Do you want to have a site that gives you information enough to find the answers to unlock the doors you seek to?
If so, don't try to entangle us into your legal issues. Keep doing what you are doing, and there will be nowhere to get any help at all. At least none that is reliable and continuously supported.
