How to find what to update to avoid black screens (wii backups)

I bought a wii recently, and installed the homebrew channels using internet tutorials. I also installed configurable usb loader, and later on wiiflow. But i can't seem to play certain games such als rayman raving rabits and super mario galaxy. I can however play donkey kong county returns. When i try to play these games i get a black screen, and the i need to restart the wii by holding the power button down.

I followed many tutorials and installed different ios versions and i tried different settings in the usb loaders but I can't get it to work. Is there some way to find out what i need to install/update to make these games play?

    Edit:
Oke, I tried the whole "softmod ANY wii" tutorial from this website again (succesfully), but i still can't play super mario galaxy and rayman (i still get the black screen when i try to load the game).

I also tried to use a fat32 usb drive, instead of the wbfs format I used before, but this didn't help (still the same problem).

I tried the ntsc and the pal version of super mario galaxy, but this too makes no difference.

Does anybody know anything else i can try?

Don't really know what that would be. Most likely you will be told to use our guide and/or post a systemcheck to make sure you have the things installed, we consider a standard to even consider certain specific backups and their issues.

Thank you for your reply, but the only thing i found there was this:

USB Loading/Softmod Disk Loading - More INFO - Blackscreen Causes & Solutions
    • Outdated/Corrupt cIOS Install -- Reinstall or update to a different revision
    • Recommended -- cIOS38 Rev 17 & Hermes cIOS222/223 v4
    • Bad rip
    (since my game isn't listed)

I tried this, but I still get the black screen, is there anything else i could try?

    Edit:
I just found that when i try to get into the wii-setting menu, a internet like browser opens (very weard), could this have something to do with my problems?

Have you tried ripping the game from the original disc?

It wont read the original disk anymore (too much scratches).

But i found someone with the same problem:

    How to fix Semi-Brick??

But he has another version of the system menu.
