Angry Western Digital HDD Problem (WON'T OPEN AFTER FORMAT)

I can no longer access my My Passport Essential SE 1TB HDD. I used WD SmartWare to disable drive spinoff, check drive 4 errors, and updated the firmware. I did a full format using a HP Tool to get rid of VCD. Then I used Easeus Partition Manager Home Edition to change letter/label. When using WiiBackupManager, got an error saying scan drive. Now all I see is local drive but can't do nothing. IT DON'T EVEN SHOW THE CAPACITY. Help!!!!!!!

Sounds like the partition table got screwed up. You should probably run Easeus, re-create your partition, and format again.

Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management then click on Disk Management. You should be able to see the drive in question. Right click on it and you should be able to delete the volume and start afresh. Make sure you are deleting from the correct drive

I have no idea about gparted, so hopefully Brian or someone will chime in. As far as the other option, are you saying disk management refuses to open when your drive is plugged "in"?

try rebooting your pc then plug in the drive, or try to access it from another computer. Here is some documentation on gparted live
