    Trade my LU64 for boot2?

My buddy is a hardcore gamer and got his wii on release day. I softmodded it for him a few years ago when I got mine. Anyways, his has been sitting and collecting dust for awhile so I was thinking about trading him my LU64 for his boot2.

I have really enjoyed helping out here on the forum, but sometimes I think I could help more if I was able to do more testing and changing configs/whatnot. I know that risk of bricking is minimal, but having boot2 I think would make me more comfortable with trying do duplicate people's errors etc and not having to worry about killing my Wii.

What do you guys think? Is trading mine for one that is 3 years older a good or bad idea?

If hes cool with it, sure go for it.

I have a boot2 wii and always make a nand backup before doing something big or messing with important or dangerous files. I sometimes do the backup just in case as well

Thanks richardsito. He's not a wiihacker, just a gamer, so he has no idea the importance of boot2. I guess the biggest worry is about the hardware itself. Three years more of use for an electronic device is a lot.

Yeah that would worry me as well.

Maybe swap drives and drive lens without him knowing?
