Apple to Release iMac for Schools?

Apple is reportedly adding a new iMac to its repertoire that seems to be aimed at the education market for volume sales.
According to 9to5Mac the lesser powered device will be available towards the end of this month and will feature “a last generation 3.1 GHz dual-core processor (3.06 GHz rounded up), 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, 250 GB of hard drive storage space, and the AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor with 256 MB of dedicated memory.”
With Apple’s last education based iMac costing around $899 it’s safe to assume that the new instalment will be sub $1,000.
There’s been no word from Apple about the launch but a source has told 9to5 that there’s a current “soft launch” date of Tuesday, August 16th.
