Hi all! Brand new Pal Wii on 4.3E - any way to softmod without a game?

Hi everyone I got a brand new Black Pal Wii a few days ago (in the UK). It's been online and there was an update to the unit. I have since formatted the Wii to factory settings - it is showing version 4.3E

I've been reading up for the last day or so on how to go about softmodding it and every thread I pull up on the web mentions needing to have a game to start the process - Lego Indy / Star Wars / Smash bros etc.

Question is is there a way to go about the mod without getting one of these games or is it an absolute necessity? I got no problems trawling through guides and downloads and spending hours following instructions. Just wan't a straight up answer and a decent link if poss

    Cheers in advance

No, u need a game for the exploit to work

    and welcome to

Thank you for becoming a member of the best wii modding site around!

First off you need to read the
Site rules and try your best to abide by them.

Now we know the rules its time to find the right guide for modding your wii, I recommend the

The Softmod Any Wii Guide by Mauifrog

This guide works for all wii's

There are also other guides which you can find in the
    Guides and tutorials section

Once you have completed the guide you need to ascertain if your wii is capable of playing backups via the disc drive or whether you need to be usb loading.

Wii's post 2009 generally cannot play backups via the disc drive and have to use usb loading.

I recommend usb loading anyway as you can add an remove your games easily and there is no wear and tear on your disc drive and no messing about with discs etc.

What you will need to know -

Just borrow the listed game from your friend or rent it from the local shop. You will only need it once so as to complete the softmod.
Transmission over and out. For more details, use search functionality.
