I'm not an expert but i've read alot about playing GC games from usb and it aint happening.
When we put a gamecube game in the wii and start it up, a thing called MIOS starts.
First, it disables all non-gamecube hardware, such as USB support and bluetooth.
then it slows down the CPU to 485MHz, just like the gamecube.
Boot2 then notices the slowed CPU, and starts up in gamecube mode.
So the wii is not emulating a gamecube, it becomes a gamecube.
But I think you already knew that.
What we need to do is create a custom MIOS that allows USB support.
And allow the gamecube game to be streamed over the USB.
STOP! Instead of trying to turn on the USB ports. Why not use what the gamecube already has????
The memory card slot (thats were USB gecko comes in.).
USB gecko go into the memory card slot. Then a USB A Female to Mini USB B 5 Pin Male Adapter, Then a usb HDD.
Use the "Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher" To load a GC ISO loader, that would run in GC mode (mios) and load the games off of a hdd using USB gecko.
I not a programer, so I can not help out. Just giving you an idea.
Would this work?????
To load gc games from usb get a wode
Richardsito sent this from his iTouch
No. Swiss kind of supports what you are talking about using the current MIOS. Swiss doesn't support the USB Gecko though. Only an SD gecko or an IDE HDD with an IDE/EXI adapter. You could just make a Swiss HDD. Or if you are going to spend the money for a useless USB Gecko you might as well buy a WODE which does a whole lot more.
