Thread: Which modchip?

    Which modchip?

My wii has firmware version 4.3e installed and is virgin. I need a solderless modchip which supports reading burnt dvd's at 6x and my firmware version. If a chip that reads at 6x does not exist then a chip that supports reading from a different type of media, such as usb.

Can anyone inform me of such mod chip?

a new Wii will never read burned media, let alone at full speed

I have checked my drive type + my wii is not new as it was bought in 2007.

regardless, the Wii will not read the burned media at full speed. Softmod is free, why waste it on a modchip...

Why not just softmod and use a usb hard drive? It is much cheaper and easy to do. Softmodding will allow you to play backup discs as well, but not @ 6x speed. Usb loading is the way to go, high speed and no discs to mess with. I think the sundriver will also do what you ask as well.

    1. not free since i have not got a game to use game exploit.
    2. softmod does not support all game and modchip doesn't either. Thats why I will softmod after I install a modchip.

still need a game to do the softmod regardless, unless you gonna download a copy and run the exploit...
