    He is only using the accelerometer as they didn't figure out how to use the IR sensor yet.

    That's sweet. You can potentially use the Wiimote for almost anything on the PC once all the kinks have been worked out

    From what I know...

    The Wiimote has 2 parts. The Acceleromter (sp?) which measures the acceleration, due to gravity, acting on the 3 axis's in the wiimote, to see which way it is being moved and twisted. This is what he is using to play HL2. Then there is the IR sensor; it's to see where the wiimote is being aimed and how far away from the screen it is. This part has not been figured out yet and is not used in the video.

    That's why he has to twist it instead of point where he wants to aim.

    what if you play on a tiny screen VS a HUGE screen? does the wiitmote take these things into consideration...in general, i guess, not just this HL2 thing?

    It really does......although I suppose using a regular controller would look quite awkward to those not accustomed to it.

    The pointer functionality is based on the sensor bar not the size of the TV. It's more like using a mouse than a lightgun. (Referring to general Wii remote functionality, not the HL2 stuff)

    The drivers probably take into consideration your screen resolution and translate the wiimote movements into cursor movements proportionate to the reso.
