    Wiikey 2 problem

This will probably sound like a noob question but then again most are. I just got my modded PAL system with wiikey 2 installed. Original games work but copies dont. One told me the region was wrong and the others just have a black screen that wont change. I know a friend mentioned I had to do a few things to the system but he picked TODAY to go on holiday and leave me hanging. Firmware on my wii says its 3.3E. Thanks for any help.

install homebrew channel via twilight princess
then use gecko OS to boot the games, if they run its not the chip if they dont its the chip or the game, odds are the chip

update the chips firmware to the latest, and block updates *it should help games too*

then downgrade to 3.2 *best firmware* and you should be fine

Thanks for the reply. But I didnt really understand most of what you said. I did find the homebrew channel thing. But I dont own twilight. I thought the modchip basically excluded the need for it.

    they do different things

homebrew adds other things like being able to play dvd's
force boot games usually giving u a better idea of the problem, or making them work
100% region free chips give partial
block updates if your chip doesnt support it
    change the wiis language
    downgrade
install Wad's like VC games, and wiiware
fix's things, so nintendo doesnt ruin your wii *maybe in the future*
    etc

    read this

    its very simple
go to the chip website, and get the update and update your chip
then get twilight princess i dont care how and install homebrew channel
then get that program, google around, or look in the download threads
then try if it doesnt work its probly the chip, but i would read canada's post on how to downgrade, its included in the link i posted, it might fix it

You're a star mate. I'll get my hands on a nice returnable copy of twilight from EB tomorrow since I have no interest in that game, and start working away at figuring out these things from what you said. Hopefully my next reply will be me squeeling with joy.

This might be a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway.. At the moment I've downloaded the wiikey2 update and installed it. Ran twilight and made a save. The link to the homebrew installing guide isnt working at the moment but I'm sure I can find that somewhere else. My main question is the next step where you download those 2 folders onto an SD card to downgrade your system, does it have to be on an SD card or will the system understand using a USB thumb drive for this step? Thanks again for the help.

    SD card only
