First of all I just want to tell you that I'm quite new on the whole wii softmodding, so please don't flame me.
I've been on firmware 3.3j for ages, but read this on the main page of wiibrew.org:
"WiiBrew recommends that you run the latest version of the HackMii Installer and then optionally update your Wii to 4.3 using Nintendo's official updater."
So I supposed it was safe to update to the newest firmware. *stupid me*
I still have the homebrew channel and I can use my emulators, but can't play my backups anymore. I guess this is because of some cios problem.
I've been looking at this guide: guide.
Is is safe to follow these steps ever though I've been installing cios's before I updated to 4.3j? DO I first need to uninstall the cios I installed and them reinstall them? or were they deleted when I updated?
thank you for your answer.
the cIOS where replaced by a useless stub file on your wii by the update. however it is not needed to delete something. Just re-mod your wii by following the 4.3 guide you found. it will install new/working cIOS on your wii. make sure you do not miss the other steps / backing up the NAND, getting priiloader etc.
