How to get my 4.1U wii to play backup discs again. It worked before enabling the...

Hi guys! I was hoping someone could help me get my 4.1U wii to play backup discs again. It worked before enabling the Shop Channel - both original discs (from all regions) and backup discs would load up in the Disc Channel and launch perfectly fine. I used Krank's excellent guide here and everything worked out swimmingly. I had to install the USA EULA v3 to get it to work (to bypass the Terms and Conditions in the setup) but all went well otherwise.

Now I am able to go online and use the Shop Channel (as well as the Weather, News and Photo Channels) as well as to load the shops from within Guitar Hero and Rock Band. However, a side effect of this is that my Disc Channel no longer allows me to load up backup discs.

I understand that running them off the HDD is a much better option than using the discs, but there is a good reason I still want to be able to play my discs - USB Loader GX won't recognize SDHC's! So even now that I've got the Shop Channel working, I can only download and play about 8-10 songs at a time - not very fun! My GH:WOR original disc works fine, and the SDHC was recognized, so that's okay. But sadly my RB3 disc was damaged by my son (from leaving it on the table all the time after playing! Eek!) and the backup is all I've got left.

Is there any way for me to re-enable the universal and region-free disc loading from the Disc Channel without breaking the Shop Channel? Reading various threads here over the last few weeks have led me to believe that there's nothing in Krank's guide that would even remotely affect the Disc Channel... so maybe something else went wrong in the process?

I should note that my system uses Priiloader and I have HBC and USBLoaderGX installed. Below is my SysCheck:

When doing the shop channel update with darkcorp/cioscorp installed, you do not install the ios56 wad as it will break darkcorp/cioscorp. Run the darkcorp v1.1 installer and everything will work again.

I see you also only have rev16 in slot 249. rev 17 is recommended and is the most stable.

Thanks so much, playerkp420! Will reinstalling darkcorp/cioscorp break the shop channel update, though? And is there a way to find out which one (dark/cios) I had installed previously? And finally, where can I get the updated cIOS249 rev 17?

Update: Okay, I spoke to the guy I bought my unit from. He said they most likely used cIOSCorp to enable backup disc loading from the Disc Channel as he doesn't know how to use DarkCorp.

Hi again! I've decided to try to reinstall cIOSCorp on my unit and I plan to follow [Do not link this forum here again. ~staff] Do I have to follow every single step one by one, or can I just skip straight to the cIOSCorp installation? I'ma little nervous performing every single step here and would feel a lot safer if I could simply install cIOSCorp and be done with it. Since it was already previously installed, am I right in assuming that all the other items on the list are already okay? In particular, Bootmii / Preloader, cIOS249 and the Trucha Bug in IOS36? Does my SysCheck show that at all?

Really, thanks for all your help - I really appreciate it. :-)

Darkcorp v1.1 is the latest Cioscorp. It will not break the shop channel. It will install all the latest rev for the ios's u need to play backup discs from the disc channel. For games that will not work with darkcorp, which there are a few, use neogamma. Neogamma will run off cios249. Your 249 is at rev 16. Rev 17 is the recommended most stable. Although, I have found rev 20b with a base of 57 or 56 to work well with most games.
Just read the directions in the readme.txt file. Make sure not to lose power while running the installer.
