I posted this about 1 year ago, emu_kidd is back at it again. Here's hoping that what runs on a Gamecube will also run on a Wii.

I'm proud to finally announce the software that I've been developing on and off the past few months or so. I've labelled it "Swiss" because it'll hopefully (not initially) boast more features than any other homebrew Gamecube utility out there. It is very losely based on the SD-Boot source but about 90% was re-written
It will be 100% open sourced and available online (probably googlecode) so you can see changes as I make them and I'll be releasing binary versions with every new feature/improvement.
- Load DOL from SD/SDHC/DVD-R/HDD
- Load GCM/ISO from Original Disc/SD/SDHC/DVD-R/HDD
- Multi-Game DVD-R support (Cobra/GCOS)
- Multi-Disc support Original Disc/SD/SDHC/DVD-R/HDD
- Disc Ripping to SD/SDHC/HDD
- Region free / Video forcing (480p)
- Full cheat engine for all games (update it via SD/SDHC/HDD)
*HDD features require a IDE-EXI or homemade adapter
**SD features require a SDGecko or homemade adapter
Definite future features (in order of priority):
- Memory Card Management
- USBGecko/SE support
- IPL/SRAM/DVD-ROM/RAM dumping
- IPL Configuration
A beta version will be available in the next two weeks

I just bought a SD Gecko to see if I could get this working on the Wii. Like I literally just bought it a few minutes ago from a store on the West Coast and paid for 2-3 day shipping so I'll test when it gets here.
Lol, this is cool. I bought a USB Gecko for $80 with shipping (it was from Australia) when they stopped making them. I wasn't really interested in one until I found out they were being discontinued.
I've never tried an SD Gecko, but I thought they were no more than an adapter for using an SD card in the GC memory card slot.
"Macs are the Perfect Computers," said the Perfect Idiot.
Pretty much. After doing some research the GC memory card is just a big SD card itself. I guess you could make a SD Gecko yourself. It's just a matter of matching up pins. The only thing I'm worried about is if the GC memory card slots will stay active when booting into GC mode.
The IDE-EXI that allows the use of a hdd is $32 (+ $14 S&H to the USA). Or you can make your own.
This should work in a Wii with a cMIOS.
IDE-EXI arrives and web store opens!

I'm proud to announce the opening of the gc-forever web store and also the arrival of the IDE-EXI
You can access the web store from the left side of the main page under "Web Store".
I have about 60 IDE-EXI's to sell, there are about 10 reserved, and 30 will be going to liquitt to sell from Europe (shortly).
The web store is a little empty right now, but I'll add in a few more items as time passes.
ETA for things currently is set at:
- IDE-EXI shipping commences around the 28/01/2011
- Swiss beta will be released at around the same time
- The Europe web-store should be opening shortly too

I'll see if I can get it running on a SD Gecko first and then possibly... I guess if worst comes to worst I could just did the purple cube back out.
Edit: I should have probably read the posted thread first. WiiPower made a post there that's very discouraging:
Post Re: Announcing Swiss - The "Swiss Army Knife" of GC software
It will most likely only play GC retail discs on a softmodded wii if that's what you are asking. On a gamecube it can change the dvd drive's firmware to read DVD-Rs, which is something that impossible on a wii. If you look at NeoGamma(or WiiGator's GC backup loader), you see that GC DVD-Rs are possible on a wii, but that would require its own (a bit complicated) code. I think swiss will concentrate on being run on an actual gamecube, everything that works on a wii too is just bonus, so it will have lowest priority if it's done at all.
But i do hope that basic wii support will be done eventually, like running retail GC games with cheats, or the Wind Waker fix. If it's just the gamecube code without tweaks for the wii, i expect retail audio streaming discs to fail, and WW will freeze when you open the minimap(DVD/SD/HDD independent).
But first things first: Let the master do his work and then we can see what we get
Hey Stomp_442. Just a heads up it's live!
