Thread: Confused about SD boot.dol

    Question Confused about SD boot.dol

I've got my wii setup the way I like it, using the latest Priiloader(0.6). I used the standard softmod guide, and got a wiiflow channel working nicely.

However, I don't think I understand the function of the SD card - when I remove it now, the wii won't boot. And, I think because of something I did during the initial softmod, when the SD Card *is* inserted, it auto-boots to Multi-Mod Manager(despite Priiloader being setup to boot to system menu).

So, I'm sure there's a way to get rid of MMM, but it escapes me! Is there something quick I can do?

Also, is there any way to make priiloader 'permanent' so that the wii will boot without the SD card?

Thanks, I know these are basic questions but I've just confused myself and can't find the answers anywhere I've looked.

Priiloader installs onto the nand so you don't need an sd or usb hdd plugged in. The wii should boot to the system menu(if priiloader is set to) with nothing inserted so something is wrong...

Ok, good to know it's something wrong and not by design I'll try reading up a bit more on how the boot process works etc and why a missing SD card would cause this issue.

Any idea how to get rid of MMM auto-boot from the SD card?

You obviously didn't finish the guide if MMM still autoboots.

Thanks for pointing that out, I have a terrible memory so I'd forgotten I skipped that last step - when I did the tutorial the first time, I guess everything just seemed to 'work' at that point and I didn't care about any extra apps, so I skipped that step. Oops.

    All set now
