    Modded Wii Drive life span

Hello there, new to the site, so first apologies for forum mods if this topic is in the wrong place; I have looked through FAQ and such and haven't found an answer to my question.

It's very simple, I so far have an unmodded/unhacked Wii, but now I'm planning on having it receive the modded chip (not sure if "modded" and "hacked" are interchangeable terms in this case, sorry), and the question that comes to mind is: Will it affect my Wii negatively in any way? For example, will playing games burned on "regular" DVDs damage the drive?

    Thanks in advance.

I do not mean to get an exact rate, I would just like to know: if I mod my wii, do I have to start worrying about my wii suddenly stopping working? or it is not that likely?

    Thanks.

ofc it is, but its just like a normal one, its not like its gonna be like a month, but it will happen reguardless at some point down the road, modded or not =P

That is exactly my question, if I do not have to worry about it more than I would worry about my regular DVD drive, then I'm perfectly ok with that Just my blatant ignorance on the subject leads me to feel fear some magical harm would come upon the drive for playing non-original games.

    Thanks.
