Been out of the loop for a while, update to 4.3?

    Hey all,

It's been quite a while since I posted here. Recently, a few Wii games that I wanted to play have been released. Namely Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Goldeneye 007.

I successfully soft modded my Wii a year ago - December 2009 to be exact. I did this via boot2, etc. as I have a white initial release Wii. My system menu was and still is 4.2. I installed the Homebrew Channel, iOS 222, 223, 249, etc. and used Configurable USB Loader to run my games from an external HDD.

I have not installed anything since last December, but I did run the automatic updates for the said programs.. last time updating was in July 2010. It is now November 28th and I am going to wipe the dust off my Wii to play these new games.

My question is - is there any reason for me to upgrade to 4.3? I know to NEVER update from Nintendo, but is there a hacked version? Also, currently on deployment with the military and have no way to update my Wii wirelessly and I don't have the network adapter. If there any reason for me to update my already existing programs to play these games?

    Thanks, take care!

Anybody out there have any idea? I downloaded all of the files from the "Softmod any Wii" thread, but is this necessary??

    I'm right here
you're not supposed to bump within 24hrs...
but there's no reason to go past 4.1 and 4.2 and 4.3 were only released to stop homebrew. Just go ahead and stay at 4.2.
You may have to update the ios's or cIOS's to play those games. I suggest searching and seeing what other people did to get them to work. There's at least a guide on DK

Do a search for the games that don't work. You'll find a guide or what IOS it uses so you can update that.
