wiiflow system channel help
hey i downloaded wiiflow full installed wii flow, its great but i need help with the channel
before i start what is the difference between the forwarder channel and the system channel, i need the icon on the wii home-screen because my family wouldn't know how to use hbc. i am using wad manager i extract all of the .wad files to just a folder called wad i open wad manager and select ios249 and disable that thing (i forgot what its called) then i select wii sd slot and it pops up all of the wads, but whenever i go to install one i get error 1029 on every wad it does this, and i really need this icon thingo. does anybody know what i done wrong?
From Messies guide:
1029: Wad Install Error: Most likely have outdated cIOS still installed. Memory might be full. Wad may be corrupt (patched/injected incorrectly).
Q. How do I fix this Error?
A.Delete ios249 with anytitledeleter then install cios38rev17=ios249 and use Wad Manager v1.7
Also what guide did you hack your wii with?
i tried to delete cios249 and i got a could not delete error,
and i also changed my ios before i went to delete,
i am not 100% sure how to use cios installer.
can u step by step tell me sorry, how to install cios 249. the menus confuse me and i end up doing something wrong.
the wads arent curropt, there is plenty of memory, how do you mean patched injected incorrectly?
sorry i am still sorta new at this
and i took the easy way out and went to a swap meet and got some nerd to do it for 50$ probaly ripped off but oh well,
when i got it back it was ver 4.1e it has usb loader 1.5 and neo gamma r6. all i have done is change a few iso, install some homebrew and updated to neo gamma r9
but i wanna use wiiflow now so much better :P
got some answers for'ya
"before i start what is the difference between the forwarder channel and the system channel"
System channel has the whole application packed into it, you dont need the folder in the homebrew channel but it takes more wii memory space and cannot be updated.
Forwarder is the way to go - think of a forwarder on the wii as a desktop shortcut is to a PC. You will need the application folder either on SD or USB, and the forwarder channel will 'point' to that. This uses less wii memory, looks exactly the same, and you can simply update the boot.dol in the folder as an application is improved.
"how do you mean patched injected incorrectly?"
Worzel was simply saying that the WAD you downloaded may have been assembled incorrectly, and be unusable - nothing to do with your wii or available memory
"can u step by step tell me sorry, how to install cios 249"
If you use the hyperlink in Worzels post it will take you to a very straightforward tutorial to install cIOS38_rev17
"i tried to delete cios249"
Never delete IOS's / cIOS's you simply install over them
"i am not 100% sure how to use cios installer"
Latest cIOS installers allow you to choose which IOS to use as a base - and wether to use WAD or network install.
This means that they will use whatever IOS you select, patch it, and install to slot 249 - and they will use your selected IOS either from your SD card or via network.
heres mine: http://rapidshare.com/files/431175319/cIOS_rev20.rar
put contents of folder to your SD card, run from HBC choose IOS56 and wad install
hope this helps
okay, i installed that ciso,
and u updated my mad manager. but still the fowarder channel has errow 1029.
what is the problem i am using wii starnight channel forwarder wsnf.wad (3.82mb)
i have chosen different forwarders, and they al do the same.
what can i do?
i really need this channel thingo so everyone can play these games
Do this and reply in-thread with the results.

thats what i got, im pretty sure my wii is fine, but please help me out if there are faults
and can you please! continue to help me get the fowarder channel to work!
Wrong cIOS; you were told Rev 17 by one poster. Typical issues when you use the wrong base. Also, you have no IOS 36. It looks like you have it (Rev 20) on 22, 236, 249, and very likely 250.
so what do i do now?
what is the right ios?
what one will make wiiflow forwarder work?
Why don't you follow an actual wiihacks softmod guide? You need to have 249/250 as Rev 17. When this is initially installed, you're supposed to use IOS 36 (or any Trucha enabled IOS) to install it. The only ones you have this way are the cIOS, which obviously are having functional/impairment issues.
