Humble request for help getting my wii up to date

Hi all. I have a wii and modded years ago, and I was into the wii scene but I have been neglecting it lately since my ps3 got jailbroked.

There are several new games for the wii that I am having trouble with. I think that there are prob a few different things that are old or outdated on my system thus my problems.

007 Goldeneye loads and plays, however when I am using wifi playing online... if I pick up a weapon on the ground my wii freezes with high pitched buzz sound. Now if I dont pick up a diff weapon I can play round after round fine online

    Having trouble loading Sonic Colours.

Black Ops isnt working for me either, I read over the black ops thread here and tried booting with 224 but it still hangs on loading screen.

I read in black ops thread booting with 250 thru a base wad or something like that worked, but I must confess i never heard of base wads (shows how long i been away) and I saw a updating your old softmod thread but no mention of these base wads.

Anyhow, I got a system check I am hoping some of the more intellectual here can tell me exactly what all I need to do and update.

    Thanks for your time

I would try to update your loaders to the latest!!!

And then look at the guides on the site for the games that you are having trouble with....
also use DOP-Mii to update your ios files just for the heck of it....

    IOS 53 - 55 - 56

    and

    update your cIOS to rev20

The softmod any wii link in my sig has a sample syscheck in it you could compare yours to. It looks like you are missing a couple ios but your cios look up to date to me. 222/223 have a rev 5 now, but I'm pretty sure rev 4 is still the one to use.
Not sure why emuhack say to upgrade to rev 20 since most people say to use 17. I am sure he knows what he is talking about though.

    thanks you the man emu!

I am about to go to work and wanted to at least get this posted before I left since I finally got around to getting a system check done, but when I get off tonite what you recommended is the first things I will do.... the preset 007 weapons are getting old, and I want to play me some black ops asap !

hey guys I did a bit of looking around and I cant find a specific guide for DOP-Mii

I found the app and DLed it but I have never used it before and I cant really find a guide for it or anything, dont find anything with a search of "DOP-Mii" on the site and most of the guides and tuts I find are for modding the whole wii from start to finish

I just tried to run DOP mii and frankly didnt know what I was doing, any links to a guide please?

Read the readme. Select the IOS that you want to use ( I recommend 249), then scroll through until you find the one you want to install, and then install it.

    Edit: Look At This

Hey thanks for the links guys, honestly I did look around for a bit, its not that I thought they werent there, I just couldnt find em on the first few pages on the forums, but gracias for humoring me with the links.

A bit of a update.... I updated the latest IOS of 53, 55,and 56 like emu recommended with DOP mii.

Im looking but I dont see a tut on the ciox 20, where do I get it and can someone give me a rundown (or link to it, ill read I just cant find it) of what the diff between the old ciosrev17 I have vs this ciosx20 with base wad type of stuff

I still need to update me cios apparently as the game still doesnt go past loading screen when launched black ops with IOS 222-224 and 249

I was also told to update latest loaders, i updated usb configurable to latest 222 version, and I checked into wiiflow, I have 2.1 and I think theres a 2.2 out but its beta, should I do that too?

thanks guys, any more help to finish this up would be awesome

The best advice from one of the mods here was to use pimp my wii, which updates all the old stuff.

    Find it here

It worked for me and I now have all the new games running.
