i currently have a wii with the black screen of death. i have ordered a new bluetooth module and wifi module. but i want to purchase an infectus 2 chip, just in case both modules don't work to help fix my problem. i do have a backup nand and keys.bricking my wii was my fault as i was tired and kept installing wads and iso files through wad manager 1.5. my system didnt support bootmii as bootmii 2. i did have priloader installed but nothing works. so would it be in my best intrest to buy an infectus 2 chip to reprogram my wii console? and is it guaranteed to fix brick ( if done right ). i do not mind experimenting with my system as trial and error through the "infectus tutorial on this site. also are there any drawbacks to trying to do this besides full destruction. i understand how to read tutorial but when on the infectus website i see 2 chips that come with it, what is the smaller one for? thank you in advance for the advice
Reprogramming your NAND is a 100% fix is it was bricked from bad wads, removing IOS's or system menus.
The smaller PCB is just to connect the USB cable, there is then a long ribbon to the actual chip. This is so you could fit it inside what ever machine and run the usb port outside.
in your personal experiences. how was you luck in using the infectus 2. did you have to play with it to get it to work good. and even though a wii is a wii, are there any diffrences on motherboard to motherboard?
Infectus is a cheap hack to make a NAND programmer.
All this is covered in the threads anyway, you should read erikies thread.
thank you for the assistance.
