Few Qs but no thread title

I am resorting to making my wii a virgin in the hope of being able to play monster hunter tri on it again. I just wanted to know for SURE if it is safe to make an LEH5 (black) wii a virgin?

I also wanted to know if there is any point in backing up my NAND if I have not installed via boot2 is there still brick prevention?

My SD card is a sandisk 2gb mauifrog said to use one less than 2gb.. does this matter greatly?

I may aswell post my syscheck here as well in a last attempt to see if there is any other options other than starting all over again

    I'm right here
There's a guide on getting monster hunter tri to work

as long as your sd card works, there's no need to worry about it
See the Thanks button over there?

I've done everything on that guide and posted a help thing on it with no reply so I just assume my situation is hopeless.. Especially since I am not getting the same error as everyone else. It wont even go to the title screen.

So back to the beginning for me... Hope to god doing this works.

Yes, please have a look at the guide. Virginizing a Wii can be a very dangerous process and should be attempted unless absolutely necessary. In your case it is definitely not.

You should still backup your nand. If you was to every brick (like following a virginizing guide ) then you could send your Wii to someone that could recover it by re-flashing the nand with the backup.

edit: I suggest you make another copy of the game or try reinstalling Hermes v4.

You think the game could have become corrupted? How would that even happen?

I have re installed hermes a number of times from 3-5 with no luck... It wasn't until I installed it for another purpose that mh3 stopped working for me. Odd

The game file being corrupted would make sense but I have no idea how it could just become like that on its own.

Looks like virginising is out the window and I need to backup my nand then =/

It is odd that it quit working after reinstalling Hermes but you mentioned above that you are getting a different error. That leads me to believe that it is something else besides and IOS problem especially since you already reinstalled Hermes. So the logical thing in my mind is to reinstall the game and go from there.

I have a few games myself on my hard drive that are corrupt. I not sure how it happens but it does. I'm just to lazy to reinstall them.

Hmm well reinstalling doesnt seem like too much of an option for me because I am on a mini laptop and my hard drive is formatted to fat32 (the usb one I use for the wii) So the game file will most likely be too big. Maybe I can find a scrubbed version of it. Needs to be PAL though which is rare enough.

    Thanks for your help.
