Hi there! I'm new, and I'm old!
Just joined after getting persuaded by a helping dude on another forum to try softmodding my Wii. I'm psyched ... several years ago I installed a wiikey on our first Wii, which was a (J) launch model and it worked like a charm for about 5 months, then the disk drive's gears chewed themselves and a tooth broke from one and I was SOL. The replacement Wii has not been modded in any way, and as a result really only gets playtime when we buy a new game (which we do regularly enough). It's been updated to 4.3u but fortunately we do have SSBB and I'm probably not too much of an idiot that I can't get this done, with help from this site.
Anyway I'm new here, but I'm old. 43 years old. Been playing video games since Pong, and my first modded console was a Saturn. Then a PSX. Then an Xbox. And then the Wii I mentioned before. I was out of the loop for several years so the whole softmod thing was more or less news to me ... amazing! Wish me luck ... I've found mauifrog's tutorial and all systems are go!
