    update message on hbc

    hi guys i loaded up homebrew channel and got this message........

    an update to the homebrew channel (version 1.0.8 replacing the installed version 1.0.5) is available for installation , do you want to update now

    yes/no

    do i need to update it not sure if this is some scam or not ?? also will i need to change anythin to it once done , im a newbie at this so dont really want to be messin about with other stuff if dont have to , just a straight update would be fine.

    Sure. Go ahead an update. You should recognize the setup process when it launches as it is the same as when you installed it.

    sorry for these dumb questions but i like to double check that i am doin it correct

    i am now on hackmii installer after it downloaded the update, here is the options

    install the homebrew channel
    uninstall the homebrew channel
    uninstall dvdx
    bootmii.....
    view copyright
    exit

    im guessin i select install the homebrew channel ???

    Just select install homebrew and bootmii. I wouldn't worry about DVDx and in fact I suggest you leave it.

    thank you , homebrew now installed , what option do i choose on bootmii ??

    correct me if im wrong but wont this already be installed

    Yes, but this version is newer. I don't know how much of a difference it makes but I would install it anyway. Go ahead and choose prepare SD card first and then select install.

    Take the bootmii folder off of the SD card and you should be good.

    so you mean load the sd card in pc and delete the bootmii folder ?
    is there a reason why i need to do that , everything seems to be running ok
